Moment of Remembrance

Fellow HHAFFAers--

In "Dear Abby" today, a request was made by Carmella La Spade, executive director, White House Commission on Remembrance for all Americans to stand together, unified in spirit for 60 seconds of respectful silence during the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 pm, local time, this Memorial Day. The purpose of this moment is a noble one--to honor America's fallen. The freedoms, which we sometimes take for granted, are reminders of their ultimate sacrifice and our ongoing debt to them. We mourn our fallen and honor their courageous legacy and the future they bequeathed to us. The Moment of Remembrance and our year-long, life-long determination to live honoring America's fallen are in memory of all those brave members of our military who have died in the service of our nation. All Americans are invited to pause in their Memorial Day activities at 3 pm, local time, to honor those who live in our hearts and rest forever in the arms of God.

Need I say more?

Happy Mother's Day! I hope all mothers, grandmothers and spouses received their Mother's Day corsages and wore them with pride to church and family gatherings! I enjoyed people commenting on my red/white/blue corsage, so that I was given the opportunity to brag about my son serving in the Army!

We've had some rough weather lately, so I know we are all ready to get out and enjoy the Spring! Haven't all the flowering shrubs and trees been beautiful this year?
