HHAFFA Celebrated the 4th of July

Both the Candle Ceremony on the Square and the Parade Entry went very well. There were about 30 people at the Candle Ceremony - and numerous service members mentioned. One man cited the Pennyslvania National Guard - and we do have an Indiana soldier who just returned from Iraq after being attached to a Pennsylvania Guard Unit for a year's tour!

We had enough people who braved the heat and humidity to march with us so that we could carry all of our flags: US Flag, US Army, US Marine Corps, US Navy, US Air Force, POW, and Seabee Flags. (We are still in need of a US Coast Guard Flag to borrow.) As usual, there were groups all along the parade route who stood and clapped in support of our troops.

The display in the Regions Bank Window will there all week - look for it as you come down 15th Street. Especially if you are stopped at the light!

Our liberty is protected at all times by those who choose to serve our country in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. These citizen soldiers, marines, sailors, members of the Air Force & Coast Guard are on duty 24/7 and in many different capacities. We celebrate this 4th of July without anxiety because of their sacrifices and the sacrifices of those who have gone before them.

US Armed Forces Candle Ceremony

Joe and Betsy decorated the window in Regions Bank, corner of 15th & J Streets Friday. Go by and check it out! The Candle Ceremony is tonight, Saturday, July 1st at 9 pm. Please plan to come and support our local troops and families.

There will be 'We Support Our Troops' signs available for you to personalize and carry in the parade on July 4th. If you don't think you can march, you can personalize the sign and we will distribute it to a marcher.
