US Armed Forces Candle Ceremony
Joe and Betsy decorated the window in Regions Bank, corner of 15th & J Streets Friday. Go by and check it out! The Candle Ceremony is tonight, Saturday, July 1st at 9 pm. Please plan to come and support our local troops and families.
There will be 'We Support Our Troops' signs available for you to personalize and carry in the parade on July 4th. If you don't think you can march, you can personalize the sign and we will distribute it to a marcher.

About 30 people attended the US Armed Forces Candle Ceremony on the Courthouse Square, Saturday evening. Paul Endris made the opening remarks followed by a short ceremony when luminaria were lit by Kaye Jeffries for each of the US Armed Forces - US Army, US Marine Corps, US Navy, US Air Force, US Coast Guard. Family members and friends then came forward to light individual candles for local men and women now serving in the Armed Forces. Amy Voris led the opening and closing songs and also sang a solo. The Girls Club was there with free memberships for girls who belong to a military family.
Thank you to all who attended in support of our local men and women who are serving our country in the Armed Forces! It is encouraging for the families to know that their love and concern and pride is shared by the community.
