Questions about deployment to Iraq
I hate to admit it, but........ I have no idea what a blog is!!! But if it is a way to keep in touch with other family members of our service members, I would be interested. My son Steven will get to come home from July 1st through July 11th before he deploys. He is coming home now (while he is on block leave, instead of in September, because I work at a school and am off during the summer as is his brother and sister). He will be deploying to Iraq on October 16th. Please keep him in your prayers. Do you have any idea of how long it takes to get mail to Iraq? Do the servicemen have access to phones or e-mail? I guess allot depends where they are. I think Steven is going to Halla(?) I think it is about 30 miles from Baghdad. Do you know of any other families who have or have had anyone there? Thanks for your help. Rosie

Rosie,
You are correct it will depend on where the service member is located, Mail can take up to a month to be delivered, however there are several MWR (Moral Welfare and Recreation) facilitates with phones and computers with internet access for the service members to use located in several locations in the area.
Good Luck
And Gods speed home for Steven.
