Avon and USO

Are you aware that AVON has a yellow ribbon pin that sells for $3? The proceeds for the pin goes to the USO
Vicki
[from Betsy - my husband, Joe, is a great supporter of the USO. He often used their facilities at airports when he was on active duty! You might tell your sons and daughters to look for the USO in the airport. They usually have a place to rest and recreate and food. They can also help with any problems. Better than sitting in airport waiting.]

This is Betsy's "Joe" adding to her USO comment. The letters stand for "United Services Organization" as I recall. It was a very important support agency during WWII. I was able to take a break in their facility when I was deployed to Viet Nam and on much of my air travel for the Navy. There is a canteen at the Indianapolis Airport on the lower level. It is near the lost baggage claim. Volunteers staff the facility and provide free beverages and snacks provided by many people. A serviceman can safely leave his gear there if they want to wander around while waiting for a flight or ground transport. The USO relies on donations from the general public for financial and staffing support.
