Just wanted to send a reminder about the HHAFFA meeting next Tuesday, July 27Th at 6:00pm in the old Madden school building, located at 620 H street. Please park and enter in the back of building.

I hope we have a good turn out for this meeting. We will be discussing the "Support Our Troops Ride". We will be making a decision about T-shirt design for the ride event. We want everyone to draw up or write down some good ideas for the shirts. Also we need new HHAFFA shirts. We are all out of shirts. We have a few youth sweatshirts left, and that's all. If anyone is interested in ordering HHAFFA shirts, please come to the meeting or send me a message.

We will also be discussing the Oolitic parade. This years parade them is "Never Forget", the date for this parade is 9/11. We have been asked to try to have as many veterans involved as possible.

We will also be discussing a variety of issues. Please join in if you can. Refreshments will be served.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

Sincerely,
Kim Johnson

P.S. They have notebooks on sale at Walmart for 15 cents each. These are nice to send to our troops for writing paper. They also have pencils for 75 cents. If anyone would like to donate while these items are at this price, it would be very much appreciated

Hope everyone is having a great summer, and keeping cool from the heat! I have some info I would like to pass on.

The 4Th of July parade was great. I want to thank everyone who walked in the parade to support our Troops. I want to thank Tom Boscher for driving his 1966 Ford Falcon Sports Coupe in the parade for HHAFFA. I want to thank all the soldiers who were dressed in uniform, who walked with us, God Bless you! I want to thank everyone who carried flags and signs. I want to thank those who passed out candy and fliers. And all the adorable little one riding in strollers. A big thank you to all!

I want to remind everyone about the meeting July 27Th in the HHAFFA office at 6:00 pm. This is to discuss the ride and T-shirt design for the ride. Please bring any designs or ideas you might have for shirts for the ride with you on the 27Th. Write something on paper, make a design or a draft on your PC, or if you can draw something up, that would be great. We need to put all our ideas together, so we can vote on our favorite design. Please plan to attend if possible at the HHAFFA office, 620 H street. Parking and entrance in in the back. The front doors will be locked. Please park and enter through back. I know we will have some new people coming to the meeting who are not familiar with the location of the HHAFFA office. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 812-275-4736.

We really need a canopy for events. We use to use the Red Cross Canopy, but are no longer able to use it. So if anyone knows of anyone who would like to donate a canopy HHAFFA can use for events and fundraisers, please let me know.We do need one of our own to keep in the office, so we will have it when needed.

I know a few of you were interested in walking again. It's good to get together and walk and have the fellowship with all our supporters. I think evenings would be best. It would be cooler. Anyone who wants to start, please feel free to call me or send an email.

Lavon Dorman would like to be in charge of organizing the Christmas packing party. She will need everyone to help. So if anyone would like to donate items, please let me know, and we can pick up any donations, or we can meet you at the HHAFFA office.

If anyone knows of a recently deployed soldier, please send his address and contact info so we can get him or her a care package and phone card out as soon as possible.

Thank you, have a great week!

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!

We have our entry number for the parade. Our number is number #9. We will be in the beginning of the parade, so not long waiting! I'm very pleased with this. We will line up on M street. Please be early so we can be organized.

Tom Bosher asked me to remind everyone about the dinner July 9Th at the Cloverleaf restaurant, July 9Th at 6:00PM. Please come join in for HHAFFA monthly fellowship and a good meal.

HHAFFA will be having a ride/poker run on September 25TH. We are having this ride to raise money for our Christmas packing party and to raise awareness, and recognition for HHAFFA. We are very excited about this event. We have our own military riding in this event. We will have the Marine Corp Humvee displayed, and so much more. Registration starts at 9:00am at the Thornton Park pavilion. Followed by a blessing of the bikes from a local minister. The ride takes off at 11:00am, then on return we will be serving food. The food will be donated. I will have many more details soon. This will be a great event for HHAFFA. I'm so pleased with all the enthusiasm! We have the same people helping to organizing this event, who held the event for Angels of Gabriel Michael Howell. Gabriel passed from cancer at the young age of three. Gabe lived across the street from me. He touched many hearts! That event was a huge success. I know this will too.
Anyone who want to ride in the HHAFFA ride will be required to sign a legal waiver.

Is anyone interested in doing another walk for Iraq and Afghanistan? Doing the summer months we walk every week, and our combined total miles are equal to the distance to Iraq and Afghanistan. If interested let me know. I know I would like to start walking again. It's so nice to all get together and walk and talk and it's a good stress reliever as well.

Also if anyone would like to start another Mom's & spouse meeting, if anyone just wants to get together and talk, we are here and ready if you need us!

Lavon Dorman has all ready talked to someone about us using the girls club for our Christmas packing party and they said we can use the girls club. Mark your calendars for November 20Th at 9:00 AM @ the Bedford girls club for our packing party. Lavon has said she would like to host this. Thank you Lavon for volunteering, and thanks to all our great volunteers!

Joyce Daugherty will be in charge of the Halloween event at the 4H fairgrounds in October, for HHAFFA. Thank you Joyce, this will be lots of fun!

If anyone has any ideas or any events they would like to host or volunteer for, just let me know. We have a lot going on this year and are very excited!

Please join us in the parade, July 3rd. Again, it starts at noon, but please be early. We are entry number #9.

Thanks to all of you for your support!

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!
