Greetings! It sure feels like Fall out there this morning, and Fall always makes me think about football, chili and getting ready for a HHAFFA New Year!!!!
Reminders:--Our first MOMS (Mothers of Military Servicemembers) and Family Member Meeting of the "new year" will be Monday, August 24th at 6 pm in the HHAFFA office (620 H St). Refreshments and friendship will be served! Please plan to attend if you are a family member of a service member--we are a GREAT support team, because most of us have "been there"!!!!
--Our regularly scheduled walk for this week has been cancelled in order to allow friends and family members to attend the MOMS meeting!!!
--Our next scheduled HHAFFA Monthly Dinner will be Friday, September 4th at 6 pm at the Cloverleaf Restaurant in Bedford. We enjoy getting together over dinner and enjoy each others' company! Please let me know by Tuesday, September 1st if you will be attending, so that I may make arrangements!
--We WILL be participating in the Oolitic Parade on September 12th! Larry Arnold will be providing a truck, and we will have about a dozen walkers! Please plan to attend and walk/ride with the HHAFFA unit to show your support for our troops! I have not received any details as to time or unit number, but I will pass the info on as soon as I receive it!
--Speaking of parades . . .the Persimmon Festival Parade will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 2 pm. We will need volunteers to ride/walk/decorate for that parade also. Please let me know if you can participate, so that we can determine if there is enough interest from our group to have an entry in that parade!
Don't forget to keep us updated on your service member's current address. And, remember, if your service member has a special day--birthday, anniversary, promotion--or has a special need, please let us know! We will organize a card shower to show support!
