Updates

At last night's meeting, we discussed "Relay for Life" bake sale, "Relay for Life", Candlelight Ceremony, and the 4th of July Parade, among other topics, and I wanted to share with you some of the information discussed:

If you can help at the Relay Bake Sale, please go to KMart on Friday and/or Saturday morning at 10 am to volunteer to man the table.

If you would like to volunteer to work the Relay Car Wash, please go to KMart on Saturday at 10 am--dress prepared to get wet!!

If you would like to donate baked goods, either drop them off (prepackaged) at the Red Cross office on Thursday, or bring them to KMart on Friday!

"Relay For Life" is June 19th and 20th. Opening Ceremonies are June 19th at 6 pm. Please plan to attend and participate at the Parkview track. Contact Kim Johnson at kimberly1055@sbcglobal.net to volunteer or if you have any questions! Our group's theme this year is M*A*S*H!!

The Candlelight Ceremony, in conjunction with the Limestone Heritage Festival, is scheduled for Sunday, June 28th at 9 pm. Please plan to attend to honor our military--past and present. Let's put our actions where our mouths are, let's show Bedford and Lawrence County that we truly "support our troops"!!!!! Let's show up en masse!!!! Let's see to it that there are so many people on the Courthouse Square that parking is a problem, and we need local policemen for crowd control!!! In order to ensure that--we need you!!!

Also--the same applies for the 4th of July Parade--noon on July 4th! Let's have so many people there walking (or riding) dressed in red/white/blue that our Unit takes 15 minutes to pass by!!! Let's show our support for our military service members and their families back home!!! The theme of the parade this year has to do with limestone--a strong foundation. Betsy came up with an excellent theme for our entry:

A Solid Foundation for Our Freedom: The US Military

Please plan on participating in any or all of the activities scheduled! I'll send updates with more details as we get them, but please email if you have any questions or concerns!!
God Bless Our Troops and their families back home!
Hope to see you soon!!!
Nancy Peabody
