Greetings!

First, I would like to say what a wonderful time I had at the Cloverleaf on Friday evening! Good food and good company--it was great! We had 17 people there and, if you didn't make it, I hope you get a chance to join us at our next dinner out! The Cloverleaf was wonderful, but do you have any other suggestions as to where else you would like to meet?

I would like to pass on some info I found in the Bedford paper:

--A free presentation on the psychological effects of war is set for Monday at Ivy Tech Community College. The lecture by Ivy Tech adjunct instructor of psychology Fred Nolan is titled "Combat Trauma (PTSD)--The Invisible Wounds and The Invisible War Back Home for Troops and Their Families." The lecture begins at 6 pm in Lamkin Hall on the Ivy Tech campus, 200 Daniels Way, Bloomington.

--OPERATION PURPLEChildren of Lawrence County military families are invited again this year to participate in a camp experience designed to recognize their unique stresses. The National Military Family Association is host to the popular camp, known as "Operation Purple." Two camps are planned for this year. Dates will be June 28 to July 3 and July 26 to 31. Applicants will be accepted from all military children ages 7 through 16. Camps are free to all participants. Military children who attend camp will have the opportunity to learn the skills to cope with the stress of a deployment and make friends with other kids who are also missing their mom or dad. Applications for the camp are accepted only online. Eligible families should sign up at www.operationpurple.org to receive email notices and camp updates.

God Bless Our Troops and their families back home!
Nancy Peabody
